Often found in China’s Shandong province, gate benches like this were originally crafted specifically for the outdoors and intended for the entranceway to a family home. You can place yours inside or outside your home for a thoughtful and considered nod to 1920s China. We think they look great at the foot of a beautifully made bed or against a wall topped with a curated collection of plush scatter cushions. Each has been treated and polished in a natural wax, letting the tone and grain of the native elm wood shine through.
