Vintage Indian Grinder Table

$790 AUD

Traditional Northern Indian chakki grinder tables are treasures that we return to season after season. They were used in Indian havelis to grind grain into chakki atta flour to make chipati or roti bread for the whole family. Each table is over 60 years old and has been crafted from solid teak that has been intricately hand carved. Sometimes, these tables still have original iron hardware and strapwork intact. The beautiful carvings will differ from one chakki grinder to the next as these items were unique to each household and each family.
