Better late than never... this post has been a long time coming. As you can expect, we have been caught up in the craziness of Christmas, the summer holiday period and juggling family life with work life! So I apologise for the lateness of this post... but I thought I should welcome you to our new Bowral store (formally!). You have probably all already seen it on our Instagram feed (and some of you in person!) but if you haven't here's a glimpse into our new flagship store.
As always, there was a lot of work involved in the setup, especially considering this is our biggest store yet! It was definitely a team effort. Dad did an amazing job at turning my ideas into reality with the fitout, and Danny and I had a lot of planning to do to make sure everything came together seamlessly - especially as Danny had to fly off to India in the midst of the setup to finalise a shipment!!! And, it just so happened that Sari started teething during the already intense setup (screaming for hours each night), so I struggled a bit with the lack of sleep and really long days, but it never seems to happen any other way does it?! Poor Mum had her fair share of work to do too... looking after Sari and Jonah each day while Danny was away and trying to give me a hand at night... as I said, it was definitely a team effort! I believe the saying goes 'If it doesn't rain it pours'. Ha!
But we did have a lot of fun dreaming up big ideas and beautiful 'spacious' layouts. Now that the store has been open for 4 months, and more and more product is arriving each week, we wish we had a store twice the size!
But let's not get ahead of ourselves!
One of my favourite areas of the store is the lounge setting as you first walk in, with the vintage Indian pressed metal ceiling panel mounted above... I have been saving this piece for the 'right' space for years, and finally it has found a home. The front area of the store would not look the same without it. That and the 2 old Indian columns we built in to support the ceiling. I love how our new range of chandeliers create such a cosy, yet sophisticated vibe and add elegance to a fairly industrial space.
Another favourite area is the pot and flower corner. The lovely Caroline from Flowers on the Mill has created the most amazing floral arrangement that just 'wows' you as soon as you walk into the store...Â
And we've finally got a fantastic rug display!!! A selection of our Turkish rugs, jute and hemp rugs and also our woollen rugs all hang like artwork on curtain tracks...
We've got an exciting 2018 planned with loads of ideas for decorating, styling and floristry workshops which will be hosted in our new Bowral store. So please follow us on instagram @fewandfarhome or subscribe to our newsletters for the latest updates and VIP events! See you in store and thank you so much for stopping by!
