Bel Jurd is a self taught abstract painter and multi disciplinary designer based in Sydney, Australia.
Raised on the rural outskirts of Sydney, Bel grew up surrounded by bushland and raw, natural landscape. Drawing inspiration from her past and also present coastal surroundings, Bel’s paintings blend nostalgic landscapes and movement, through a sensory abstract lens.
Each piece explores painterly and ethereal compositions, through subtle and evocative gestures.
The layering of paint, inks, and pigments are intuitively moved across the canvas in fluid moments and open a dialogue between the artist’s process and abstraction.
