ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: BEL JURD
Bel Jurd is a self taught abstract painter and multi disciplinary designer based in Sydney, Australia.
Raised on the rural outskirts of Sydney, Bel grew up surrounded by bushland and raw, natural landscape. Drawing inspiration from her past and also present coastal surroundings, Bel’s paintings blend nostalgic landscapes and movement, through a sensory abstract lens.

The collection will be exhibiting across our Few and Far Store Store Locations.

Each piece explores painterly and ethereal compositions, through subtle and evocative gestures.

Bel Jurd’s latest body of work titled “Grounding Series”, is a visual meditation where one can escape life’s chaos into a serene and grounded presence.  

In a world where we are surrounded by synthetic digital representations, the pieces within the Grounded collection celebrate the artist’s emotive and imperfect mark making process, through muted layers of pigment and fluid transparencies in earthen tones. 

The viewer is invited to disconnect, in order to reconnect. 

The works engage the senses and create a feeling of connection, using an organic palette that reflects nostalgic landscapes and memories of an ephemeral moment in time.
