Whether you’re looking to escape inland or to the coast, setting up a luxurious glamping experience can take your camping trip to the next level. In this blog post, we’ll go over our go-to steps for setting up the most luxurious glamping experience for the upcoming holidays.
Step 1: Find the Perfect Tent
The first step to setting up a luxurious glamping experience is to find the perfect tent. We recommend a canvas bell tent, which is not only spacious but also provides excellent ventilation and insulation. The natural fabric of the tent helps to regulate temperature and keep you comfortable throughout the night. We love the height of a bell tent, as you can easily stand up and move around, and it provides ample space for furniture and decor.
Step 2: Set Up a Luxurious Bed
A comfortable bed is a must for any glamping experience. Instead of sleeping bags or mats, we suggest using a mattress or inflatable bed topped with luxurious linens and throws. This is especially important if you are staying for a few nights - you will thank us as you snuggle into a comfortable bed that's away from the cool ground in the evenings. Opt for high-quality bedding, such as Egyptian or Turkish cotton sheets, a down comforter, linen duvet cover, and soft pillows and pillowcases. Investing in the bed and bedding, will make you feel like you’re sleeping in a private luxury hotel room in the middle of nature. After all you are on holidays!
Step 3: Use Vintage Pieces for Decor
To add some character and charm to your glamping setup, we suggest using vintage pieces to decorate as the softness of their design pairs perfectly with the natural surrounds while glamping. Be it inside your bell tent, or out the front in a gathering picnic space, we like to use our vintage one-of-a-kind furniture pieces sourced from northern Indian like our Vintage Indian Coffee Table, bajot tables, or round wooden grinder tables to add sturdy table tops to the setting. These unique pieces will not only add a touch of nostalgia but also serve as functional surfaces for dining or playing games. We love the love level of these tables that lend themselves perfectly to grazing picnic tables.
Step 4: Use an Outdoor Rug for Star Gazing
For a luxurious and cozy atmosphere, use an outdoor rug to create a designated area for gathering outside. When placed right on the front our your tent, an outdoor rug will help to keep your feet warm and clean while enjoying the great outdoors. Choose a rug with a soft texture and warm colour to create a comfortable and inviting space. We have used our Vintage Turkish Carpet but we recommend using rugs designed for the outdoors.
Step 5: Add Throw Cushions for Texture
To add some texture and warmth to your glamping setup, pack lots of throw cushions and blankets. We recommend using a colour palette that complements your tent - so here we have used a neutral warm colour palette which pairs with the light oatmeal colour of the bell tent. Once you have landed on colours, choose a mix of cushions in a variety of patterns to create a depth and an inviting atmosphere. These throw cushions can also serve as extra seating or pillows for lounging.
Step 6: Create an elevated picnic
No luxurious glamping experience is complete without a little indulgence. Elegant picnic food is one part the food, the other the display. We love using a marble bowl to serve dips, cheese boards to create a chacuterie and large bowls for salads or fruit. Drinks are of course a must, especially as the sun sets, so be sure to pack a bottle to enjoy a refreshing drink while soaking up the great outdoors. If you are feeling adventurous a cocktail under the stars is certainly something special - so consider packing a cocktail shaker and mixer. We have use a Brass Wine Bucket to store beverages while glamping. This will add a touch of elegance and sophistication to your glamping setup.
Step 7: Bring Games to Play
Finally, for some fun and entertainment, add games to the table like cards, quizzes, or board games like backgammon to keep you and your guests entertained throughout the night. Camping is all about being off grid and present - so pull out those old fashion games like dominos and keep those phones away.
