We have had another exciting delivery of vintage Turkish (Oushak) and Persian carpets! These deliveries are always torturous for me, as I love so many of them but have a really small house and already own a lot of rugs! I wish I could swap and change them (but I'd need more storage for that!).

These timeless, vintage pieces (all around 50-60 years old) have been handwoven by artisans from natural fibres. They are beautifully aged and worn in all the right places and are a durable, hard wearing, low maintenance option for your floors.

Antique Oushak carpets tend to be coarsely woven on a wool foundation with a wool pile, and are distinctive in both pattern and colour palette. The designs of Oushak rugs and carpets have been greatly influenced by Persian design and are typically based on geometric motives with central medallion drawings, smaller all-over medallions or scattered sprays of vine scroll and palmettes. Originating from the small town of Oushak, just south of Istanbul, these carpets are truly one-of-a-kind pieces that bring rich history and stories of a past life to your interior.
