What a wild beginning to 2022 – the first month of the year has escaped us already! We've spent most of it being super busy and planning some exciting things for this year, but there’s only so much you can keep doing before you need to ask for help and surrender to it. It’s something I’m really working on at the moment as we climb into the next stage of growth in our business.
Having a lot to do in a short space of time can make you incredibly efficient, but it’s also important to come up for air and take a helicopter view. Before you know it, if you continue on like this, with your head stuck in the day to day, you will come to realise that you have been robbed of the ‘precious’ time you should be enjoying… life.
These days, more than ever, I have come to realise the importance of ‘time’ and how it should best be spent, which is why we should be celebrating the ones we love this Valentine's Day. I've planned a weekend on the South Coast, just for you!
Arguably the most important stop of the day! IV Berry has some of the best coffee in town and are dog-lovers just like us! If you're bringing your furry friend along for the day, the team at IV will be more than happy to offer a puppaccino with a side of belly rubs!
Now that you're caffeinated, it's time to go on a journey through Few & Far Berry. This is the perfect time to go separate ways and pick a present (or a few) for each other. There's something for everyone this Valentine's Day, and you can get lost for hours!
If you're stuck for something to get your man, our selection of men's fragrances is always a winner.
Time for a mid-morning snack and there's no better way to share the love than to share some donuts from The Famous Berry Donut Van. You can't go wrong with a 6 pack of freshly-cooked cinnamon donuts to accompany you on the rest of your journey!
Hop back in the car and head a little further down south. Our home town, Huskisson is always buzzing with people around and things to do, but of course the most exciting thing to do should be to visit our stores (I might be a little bit biased)! Filled with trinkets, decor, books and knick knacks I know you won't be leaving empty handed.
My favourite part of this store is the garden section nestled at the back, filled with pots, flowers, books and an array of picnic goodies. You can hand select the perfect bunch of florals for an everlasting Valentine's Day bouquet – our team will even wrap everything for you if you like!
If you're looking for some living room inspiration make sure to pop into our Huskisson Showroom! We have so many big and small pieces you can mix and match to suit your style. Whether you're after a whole new sofa, or just a few little knick knacks to update your decor, there's a whole range of treasures to uncover around every corner.
5 Little Pigs in Huskisson is my go-to cafe in Huskisson. It's the perfect place to stop and have some rest and relaxation while you sit outside and watch the world go by. Hear the sound of the ocean and smell the fresh salty, sea air while you have a chat.
As well as having a beautiful atmosphere, they also have a great selection of food to fuel the rest of your day, as well yummy coffees or smoothies before you jet off to the beach.
Just 15 minutes down the road, it's time to veg-out on the some of the whitest sand in Australia. Hyams Beach is one of Australia's most famous beaches, with 2.8km of crystal clear water and bright white sand stretching down the coastline, there's plenty of space to lay out a towel and soak up the sun.
Grab a book, or just enjoy each other's company while you dip in and out of the water.
The perfect way to finish off a wonderful day is to head to one of Milton's most beautiful wine bars.
Located in the lush green grounds of The Old Church at Milton Altar Wine Bar offers a selection of International and Australian wine. Watch the sunset with a glass of red or white, have some delicious bites to eat and enjoy some live music and let the conversation flow.
After a fun-filled day, it's time to check-in to your dog-friendly accomodation for the night. Bannister's at Mollymook is a beautiful place to stay in one of the best locations on the South Coast.
If you've left your furry friend at home, you'll have a little more choice in accomodation! Bannisters has three unique options in Mollymook. From the panoramic ocean views and luxury of By the Sea to the contemporary style of the Pavilion to the relaxed vibes of the nearby Beach House.
If you want some extra couples R&R, call ahead and book in for a spa package!
Enjoy a sleep in before you begin to head towards home.
If you didn't opt to have breakfast included in your stay, roll out of bed and into a another trendy cafe!
Milk Haus is a dog friendly cafe, situated in the old cheese factory in Woodstock. They're a whole foods cafe that aims to deliver fresh, honest, good food that makes you feel energised and alive.
Take a seat in the garden area with your furry friend and relax, enjoy each other's company, sip your coffee and take in the fresh, country air.
Stretch your legs as you wander through our Bowral store. Participate with us in the ‘slow shopping experience'; wander through, inhale, enjoy… come to escape and to connect, to spend time and to make time.
We wanted to create a beautiful place where we and others could come and get lost in time, to enjoy a one-of-a-kind and compelling shopping experience, to be enticed by the aroma, listen to soft music from places in our memory and admire furniture and décor from faraway places made by creative minds, artists and craftsmen.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner The Hungry Monkey Bowral has something for all tastes.
White Horse coffee is brewed in house and they have an extensive range of cocktails (it's after 12pm after all!). Their dishes are hand-crafted from locally sourced ingredients and an array of boutique burgers will have you coming back for more.
A little something for the drive home... Gumnut Patisserie is an award-winning pastry cafe, serving the locals and tourists of Bowral alike. The queue might be out the door of this little patisserie when you arrive, but the goodies are definitely worth the wait! You might even want to grab a little extra to pop in the fridge for the next day, because you'll be craving some more!
What a weekend! It's time to head home – I hope you enjoyed your weekend away. If you end up heading down the coast this Valentine's Day weekend, let me know what you get up to! I love to see people enjoying everything this special part of the world has to offer.
