2025 was a year of stretching, learning, and stepping into the unknown. From the industrial-chic heart of our new Rosebery showroom to the storytelling pieces found in our latest collections, we’ve chosen curiosity over comfort. As the sun sets on an extraordinary year, I’m reflecting on the beauty of connection, the power of 'antifragile' growth, and the soulful homes we've been invited into. Here is our year in review...

As the sun has well and truly set on 2025, I’ve found myself in a rare moment of stillness, reflecting on a year that has been, quite simply, extraordinary.

Few and Far has always been built on a foundation of connection—to culture, to craft, to the whispering stories of the past, and to the homes and projects we are so privileged to be invited into. But 2025, more than any other year, reminded me how powerful that connection truly is. It was a year of learning, of stretching our boundaries, and of stepping bravely into the unknown. We chose curiosity over comfort, and in doing so, we discovered what becomes possible when you lead with heart.

The Milestones & The Leaps of Faith

Looking back, the calendar was marked by moments that set a new benchmark for our business, testing our grit and rewarding our faith.

A New Chapter in Rosebery: The official opening of our Sydney showroom at the Rosebery Engine Yards. Bringing the Few and Far spirit into the industrial-chic heart of Rosebery has been a dream realised. It has become a creative hub—a sanctuary for Designers, Stylists, and homeowners to escape the city haze and experience a world that feels a little more soulful. It’s a place where you can touch the textures, see the scale, and find that one "hero" piece that anchors an entire room.

The Celebrations of Growth: We found beauty in the unexpected this year. From our first-ever “Tara’s Birthday Sale” to the playful, unfiltered chaos of “Tara Bought Too Much,” these weren't just events; they were lessons in transparency. They taught us how to trust the process and how to build an even stronger foundation for the community we serve.

The Black Friday Leap: This November, we took our biggest leap yet. It was a moment filled with equal parts fear and excitement—a true test of our "antifragile" spirit. It resulted in our most extraordinary result to date, proving that when you offer something with genuine intention, people respond in kind.

The Evolution of the Collection: Sourcing the Soul

This year, we introduced some of our most storytelling pieces to date through our Collected. Curated. Crafted. arrivals.

Our mission has always been to be your go-to destination for pieces that tell a story. Whether you are a homeowner curating your forever sanctuary, or an Interior Designer searching for that specific piece that adds "history" to a new build, we want to be the first place you think of.

Watching you embrace the blend of the old and the new has been pure joy. There is a specific magic in seeing a century-old, hand-carved vintage treasure from Rajasthan or Northern China find its place beside a sleek, sculptural modern silhouette. It’s that layering of history—the weathered timbers meeting the refined, contemporary finishes—that makes a space feel entirely, unapologetically yours.

The Philosophy of the 1%

I often speak about being Antifragile—the idea that we don’t just survive challenges, but grow stronger because of them. This year, that story was told in the "1% improvements."

Much like the homes we love creating, a business is built layer by layer. We add soul, character, and meaning through the tiny refinements: the thoughtful detail in a showroom display, the reimagined trade program to support our designers, and the commitment to finding pieces with true provenance.

Looking Toward 2026: A Softer Perspective

As we move into 2026, we are more energised than ever. We are moving away from the fast and the fleeting, leaning instead into "The New Home"—a space that feels curated, not just decorated.

You’ve already seen a glimpse of this vision with our latest launch: Suiki in Dusty Pink. This gentle, wabi-sabi blush joined our Natural palette as a reminder that the New Year is a time for softness and new beginnings. We can’t wait to uncover even more timeless, storied pieces that feel personal, lived-in, and a touch luxurious.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Behind every milestone, every shipment, and every showroom opening sits something far more important: YOU.

Your support of a small Australian business, your trust in our vision, and your willingness to welcome our pieces into your most private spaces made every step worthwhile. You have been part of our courage and our evolution this year.

Wishing you a season filled with warmth, rest, and meaningful moments with the people you love.

With Heartfelt Gratitude,

Tara Solberg x
